marriage_shravan
The term ‘Shravan’ means various things. Ears, hearing, reception, outflow. It means all of these, but according to the Brhatsamhita, it is specifically the lunar period that corresponds to the months July-August.
Shravana month is also popularly known as the Sawan Maas. This year, in 2023, the Sawan Maas begins July 4 (Tuesday) and ends on August 31 (Thursday).
According to the Vedic astrology, the month of Shravan sets in when the Sun enters the zodiac sign of Leo. Leo is a masculine sign, and so, fiery by nature. The Sun in this sign strengthens your heart, nervous system and implants kingly qualities in you.
For every Purnima that comes during these months, the Full Moon is in the 22nd nakshatra Shravan.
The Full Moon ripening in this nakshatra holds a marked significance. The ruling deity of Shravana is Lord vishnu. The Shravan Purnima enhances the sattvic tattva, health, peace and prosperity (both material and spiritual).
Shravana, clearly, is the most auspicious time of the year. This time is best to work towards your goals, especially if you’re facing unwanted delays in your marriage.
Remedies to practice this Shravan that will help you avoid marriage delay and find a favorable spouse:

Worship of Lord Shiva during Shravan month 🕉️

Lord Shiva is deeply connected to the month of Shravana. Shravana is an auspicious month when worshiping Lord Shiva can prove highly beneficial. Fasting during the month will enhance the benefits of worshiping Lord Shiva. But, in case you find fasting difficult, you may also worship him without really fasting.
There are various ways in which you can worship Lord Shiva. Pleasing the Lord with water, milk, bel leaves, panchamrit and other auspicious offerings in Shravana month renders your worship 108 times more powerful than in the other months.
The Shravana nakshatra resides entirely in the sign of the Capricorn and is ruled by the Moon. Moon also adorns the matted locks of Lord Shiva and is associated with the mind.
In the month of Shravana, your mind is naturally one-pointed and the energy build up is tremendous. It is this energy build up that opens up the channels for you meeting a person of your liking.

9 Must-Have Essentials For The Upcoming Shraavan Month 2023

Observing the Solah Somwar (16 Mondays) Vrat during Shravan 🌱

The solah somwar vrat is highly popular, especially among those searching for a favorable life partner. It consists of fasting consecutively for 16 Mondays, the first Monday being the first one of the Shravan month.
The vrat of Solah Somvar began with Maa Parvati, She being the first one to observe it.
Maa Parvati observed the fast for 16 consecutive Mondays to obtain Lord Shiva as her husband. The month of Shravan is intricately connected with Lord Shiva. To obtain marital status and bliss, both men and women can observe this fast.
Here are a few simple steps to follow the Vrat rituals to evoke Lord Shiva-
  • Wake up early in the morning (preferably in the Brahma muhurat)
  • Carry out the cleansing rituals. Add a few black sesame seeds to your bathing water.
  • Sprinkle Ganagjal all over your home. If you do not have Gangajal, then you may use normal water to clean the house.
  • Place the idol/image of Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati (together) in the North-East corner of your house. This is going to be your home shrine for the coming 16 consecutive Mondays.
  • Offer flowers, sandal paste and kumkum (only to Maa Parvati).
  • Light a ghee/sesame oil lamp and burn the incense.
  • After you decorate your home shrine, sit in a comfortable position (on the chair or floor) and chant the mantra, ‘Om Namah Shivay’ 108 times. Follow the chanting for the coming 16 Mondays without break.
  • You may also visit a nearby Shiva temple and make offerings to the Shivlinga till the time you finish the vrat.
  • The fast permits one to eat one meal during the day. Eating sattvic food (with oil, spices and salt not in excess but in balance) will enhance the benefits of this fast. If possible, you may also fast by solely eating fruits and milk.
The most suitable foods for the Vrat are:
Saltless chipsFruitsDhoklaShrikhandSago Stew or Sabudana KhichdiCurdButtermilk
  • Strictly avoid nicotine, caffeine and alcohol while you fast for 16 weeks.

Shravan Somwar Vrat: An Alternative Practice 🙏

Shravan somwar vrat resembles the Solah Somwar Vrat.
Solah somwar vrat continues for 16 consecutive Mondays (even after the Shravan month finishes), while the Shravan Somwar Vrat is done only till the Shravan month lasts.
Done for four or five consecutive Mondays ( 2023 Shravan month will have 8 Mondays), the vrat vidhi is the same as the Solah Somwar Vrat and is equally potent.
Doing this vrat with complete dedication and surrender will enable you to attract a favorable spouse and avoid delays in your marriage.

The Gauri- Shankar Rudraksha and Its Benefits

Gauri Shankar rudraksha is rendered excellent as a marriage remedy.
Besides observing the fasts, wearing Gaurishankar rudraksha holds equal effect. This powerful bead holds a special significance for the people who are seeking their life partner or are facing delayed marriage.
With the two rudraksha beads glued together, the Gauri Shankar rudraksha denotes union. The union here has various applications and sacred meanings. For Yogis, it signifies the ida and pingala- the two of the three major nadis in the human spinal cord. But for the Grihasthas, it precisely signifies the union; the alliance between the husband and his wife.
The two rudrakshas are naturally attached to each other.
One is Shakti while the other bead represents Shiva. Purush or Shiva is the pure conscious energy and Shakti or Prakriti is the dynamic manifestation of this pure consciousness.
The Gauri Shankar Rudraksha chiefly signifies the male and the female energies coming together to create balance. It's the fusion of the Yang and the Ying energies challenging the chaos that is so much a part of our lives.
Wearing Gauri Shankar Rudraksha especially this Shravan month can fetch you great benefits.
  • If you’re facing delayed marriage, then wearing this rudraksha can help you attract the right partner. One of the reasons for your delayed marriage could be mangal dosha in your natal chart. Wearing this rudraksha can effectively neutralize the mangal dosha.
  • This rudraksha will clear your aura and enhance your magnetism enabling you to attract a soulmate of your choice.
  • If there are other malefic planets in your natal chart affecting or causing delay in your marriage, then Gaurishankar rudraksha can remove these obstacles.
  • Balancing all your chakras, the Gaurishankar rudraksha instills you with confidence and a sense of security. Both these elements make you a desirable marriage choice by the opposite gender.
  • Gaurishankar rudraksha aligns you with universal love, removes fear and harmonizes your relationships.
  • It will enable you to gain more clarity in your relationships by purifying your Hrit Padma Chakra.
  • Wearing this rudraksha will promote peace and harmony in your married life.
  • Overall, it makes you a well-balanced personality.
