5 Effective Vedic Astrology Remedies for Cleansing Ourselves of Past Karma
An accurate study of planetary positions in our natal chart at the time of our birth interprets these laws and helps us predict our future, which is known as Predictive Astrology, which is a part of Vedic Astrology.
Have you ever wondered what happens to our past lives? As per Natural Law, the results of our past life karmas are reflected in our present life birth chart. No wonder then, that our time and place of birth are not random and have imprints of our past actions in the form of the environment, family, and other physiological factors that we are born under.
The results of our past wrong karmas manifest in the form of the inauspicious dasha and malefic planets, which negatively influence our lives and well-being. To mitigate the undesired results of our past actions, one needs to take certain precautionary measures, which are called remedial measures, which again are a crucial part of Vedic Astrology.
Some effective remedial measures under Vedic Astrology are as follows -
Yantra as Vedic Astrology Remedy
Yantra(यंत्र) in Sanskrit means an instrument or an apparatus. In Vedic Astrology, a Yantra is a geometric design that embodies the structure of a mantra.
These yantras are energized at an auspicious time using the mantras of the specific deity involved. Meditating on yantras proves to be highly effective as it helps you concentrate, focus, and contemplate better. These are visible mantras, and focusing or meditating on a single yantra facilitates silence of the mind and attains mental stillness, which is paramount to connecting with the divine.
As per Vedic Astrology, Yantras have potent energy and create divine vibrations. Yantra meditation is a powerful technique to mitigate or remove the malefic effects of the planets or to ward off negative energies or evil forces.
Chanting or meditating on yantra safeguards you and their mystic energy empowers you in a holistic way.
The process of energizing the Yantra is quite crucial and is called Pranprathistha. It should be done under the guidance of a learned astrologer or by an Acharya who is an expert in energizing yantras.
To begin with, powerful specific mantras of the presiding deity of the yantra are recited, followed by Homa, a ritual performed by the sacred fire, and Ahutis should be offered. This energizes and activates the yantra, and once done, it could be installed in the prayer room or place of worship at home.
You can also wear a miniature form of the yantra and chant the specific mantra. However, only when you religiously worship the yantra daily with a pure heart and meditate on it, surrendering yourself to it completely, can the countless benefits of yantras be experienced. Not only does it help to neutralize the malefic planets, but other issues like bad temper, chronic illness, and diseases can be dealt with by meditating on yantras. It also helps to get rid of poverty, improve your relationships, curb your fear and free you from phobias, bestows good luck, prosperity, and success and helps you to lead a blissful life.
Rudraksha as Vedic Astrology Remedy
As per Vedic Astrology, Rudraksha(रुद्राक्ष) is another effective form of remedial measure. Rudraksha means "Rudra", which is the name of Bhagwan Shiva, and "Aksha", which means tear. Thus, if legends were to be believed, Rudraksha was formed from the tears of Bhagwan Shiv.
Rudrakshas are believed to possess mystical powers and healing properties. They are high-potent energy beads.
It is said that Rudrakshas can never do any harm to the wearer; on the contrary, they benefit the wearer miraculously. It contains cosmic energy and can eliminate the negative effects of the malefic planets in your horoscope.
There are different mukhi (faces) Rudrakshas, and the choice of Rudraksha to be worn is according to the corresponding planets that you need to appease and for specific benefits.
These holy beads, when energized and empowered the right way, can help you achieve wonders. Hence, before wearing them, they should be purified and energized. Here, the process of giving life to Rudraksha is called Pran-Prathista.
It is done by cleaning and purifying the Rudraksha beads with milk, ghee, and oil with the chanting of the mantras corresponding to the mukhis, which results in a highly energised and activated Rudraksha.
Rudraksh beads possess healing properties. They radiate electromagnetic waves, and hence, when worn as a pendant close to the heart, it soothes the heart and calms the mind by controlling certain brain chemicals and neurotransmitters.
Medical sciences have proven that Rudraksha has healing and anti-ageing properties and does wonders for your overall health when worn. However, for all these benefits to be experienced, one must opt for highly authenticated Rudraksha seeds. Hence, choosing original Rudraksha from authenticated sources is extremely important to reduce the ill effects of the inauspicious planets, to seek the blessings and grace of Bhagwan Shiva and to lead a miraculously fulfilling life.
Gemstones as Vedic Astrology Remedy
Gemstones(रत्न) are also popularly associated with astrology as remedies. Gemstone remedies are used to nullify the malefic effects of the planets.
Astrologically, every planet has a corresponding gem, and by wearing these gems, one can reduce the negative effects and bring favourable results.
Gemstones give and receive energy. These powerful gems radiate energy in all directions and then bring the energy back through the centre.
There are various forms of gems like ruby, diamond, pearl, cat’s eye, purple sapphire, emerald, topaz, etc., only to name a few. To get the right benefits out of these precious stones, you have to choose original and high-quality gems. For the credibility of gems to matter, and for remedial measures to be effective, the gemstones need to be purified and sanctified.
Purification of the gemstones before wearing is done by soaking them overnight in silver, copper, or gold containers filled with pure mountain water or steam water. Some may also soak the gems overnight in raw milk or in a mixture of raw milk, yoghurt, honey, sugar, and ghee.
After the cleansing process, you need to choose an auspicious day and time to wear the gemstone. Depending on the gems, you are advised to get them embedded in a silver, gold, or copper ring with the base of the precious stone touching your skin for the best results.
You should meditate on the gem or, better yet, chant the mantra of the corresponding planetary deity 108 times and wear it in the morning or evening, depending on the gemstone recommended by the astrologer.
Wearing the gem as a finger ring, necklace, or bracelet helps to evade negative energy, brings the body into greater alignment, and bestows success, happiness, and good health by appeasing the malefic planets.
Yajna as Vedic Astrology Remedy
Yajna or Yagya(यज्ञ) means worship or offering. As per the Vedas, fire is considered to be holy and sacred, and yajna is done around the holy fire. It is a form of ritual worship where offerings are made to the sacred fire, implying offerings are made to different deities to appease them.
A Yajna is performed religiously by qualified priests or pandits as a remedy to fulfil one’s desires. The offerings during yajna also hold an ethical meaning. It hints at detachment from things and moving from selfishness to being selfless and helping others.
Performing Yajna helps to mitigate the ill effects of the unfavourable planets and brings you the desired results. Some of them are Navagraha Shanti Yajna, Mahamrityunjaya Yajna, Ashwamedha Yajna, Rajasuya Yajna, etc.
Japa as Vedic Astrology Remedy
Japa(जाप), in its simplistic form, is mantra chanting or repetitive recitation of the name of one's Lord or the divine. This repetitive tendency towards a particular Divine form depends on the mental state and the inclinations of the person practising it.
Japa is a simple yet effective remedial measure to calm the unfavourable planets and to seek the blessings of the divine through Japa, i.e. chanting mantras related to malefic planets. These mantras can be recited with eyes closed while meditating on the deities, or chanting of the mantras can be done over a garland of beads, rosary(mala), etc.
An experienced astrologer can assist you with mantra chanting by providing you with the correct mantra, pronunciation, and meaning. They may also prescribe the number of times and days these mantras are to be chanted to yield desirable results. Some of these mantras are Shiv Mantra, Gayatri Mantra, Beej Mantra, etc.
