Rites are performed in aparahna kaal, the fourth part of the day counted from sunrise, not in the morning. Some panchangs open the fortnight on 26 September with Purnima Shradh and others on 27 September with Pratipada. Both readings are traditionally accepted, so follow your family's practice.
