Why these two go together
Lakshmi and Kuber hold two jobs in the same story. Lakshmi governs wealth in motion, the money that arrives and circulates. Kuber is the treasurer, and what he guards is the pile you've already built.
That split is what decides where each piece lives in your house.
The Shree Yantra is Lakshmi rendered as geometry. Nine triangles interlock around a single centre point, ringed by two rows of lotus petals, with the square bhupura closing it off at the edge. It belongs on your altar, facing east or north, and it stays there through the year.
The Kuber Yantra belongs wherever the money sits. A locker, a cash drawer, the shelf where you keep property papers. Astrologers suggest it when the chart's wealth houses need support, and shopkeepers keep one in the till.
The altar piece on its own is where most people start. Adding the locker piece is what completes the pair, and it's the version of this practice that the texts actually describe.
Where each one goes
Shree Yantra. The north east corner, in your puja room if there is one. It wants raising on a wooden chowki or the altar shelf. Turn it to face east or north, which puts you facing the same way when you sit down.
Kuber Yantra. Vastu puts Kuber on the north side of a room, facing south. In practice that's the far shelf of a tijori, a cash drawer, or a standing safe set against the north wall.
Keep both off the floor, with nothing stacked on top of either one. The altar shelf wants to be clear of keys and bills.
Moving one piece to your shop? Send the Kuber Yantra. Home is where the Shree Yantra belongs.
Setting them up
Friday morning is the standard day for a Shree Yantra sthapana, since Friday belongs to Shukra and to Lakshmi. Dhanteras, Diwali, Akshaya Tritiya, Navratri and Gurupushya are the festival days people wait for.
Wash down the shelf and cover it with a red or yellow cloth.
Give both plates a rinse. Plain water does the job, and a mix of raw milk, water and a little gangajal is the fuller version. Rinse off and dry them.
Mark each plate with a kumkum tilak. Light a ghee diya and a dhoop.
For the Shree Yantra, chant Om Shreem Hreem Shreem Mahalakshmyai Namah 108 times.
For the Kuber Yantra, chant Om Yakshaya Kuberaya Vaishravanaya Dhanadhanyadhipataye Dhanadhanya Samriddhim Me Dehi Dapaya Swaha 21 times. Set a currency note and a coin down in front of it.
Put each plate in its place before the day ends. After that, a diya on Friday evening is enough for the altar piece. The locker piece stays where it is and wants looking at once a year.
Want them to stand up?
Both plates come in a version with a stand. Pick that if your altar is deep enough to hold them upright, or if the Kuber plate has to lean against the back wall of a locker. The combo with both stands is Rs. 1,141, against Rs. 1,400 bought separately.
There is also a 7 x 7 inch version of each in an Italian frame, sized for a wall. The framed combo is Rs. 4,051, against Rs. 4,300 bought separately.
Choose your version in the selector above the price.
Care
A dry soft cloth once a week is the whole routine. Dust packs into the engraved lines faster than you'd expect, and those lines are the first thing to go dull.
Twice or three times a year, or at Diwali and Navratri, wash them under plain water. No soap and no detergent.
Scrubbing is what lifts gold plating, so keep brushes and polish away from both plates.
Pick a spot for each plate and leave it there. Tradition treats a placed yantra as settled.
