About the Kurma Meru Shree Yantra

This brass piece combines a Meru Shree Yantra with a detailed tortoise (kachua) base. The tortoise shell carries the tiered Sri Chakra, finished in golden brass with textured shell and head detailing.

Traditional significance

In Hindu tradition the tortoise (Kurma) is an avatar of Lord Vishnu and a symbol of stability and longevity, while the Shree Yantra represents Maa Lakshmi. Together, the Kurma Shree Yantra is kept for steady prosperity and harmony at home and work.

Where to place it

Place it in the north or north-east of the home, at the entrance console, in the mandir, or on an office desk with the tortoise facing inwards.

How to energise (sthapana vidhi)

1) Choose an auspicious day such as Friday or Thursday. 2) Bathe, clean the puja space and place the yantra on a red or yellow cloth facing the north or north-east, facing inwards. 3) Sprinkle Ganga jal, apply kumkum and offer flowers, rice and a diya. 4) Chant "Om Kurmaya Namah and Om Shreem Mahalakshmyai Namah" 11 or 108 times. 5) Continue a short daily or weekly prayer to keep the practice alive.
