Shri Matsya Yantra

Matsya is the fish avatar of Vishnu. The Yantra has an avatar-specific devotional focus.

No. Matsya is a Vishnu avatar, while Varun refers to Varuna. Water imagery does not make their deity identity or ritual practice interchangeable.

Follow your Vaishnava tradition and confirm the actual inscription. A prayer prescribed for another Matsya design is not automatically specific to this piece.

No guaranteed physical protection is established. Building safety, flood planning and repairs require practical assessment.

The general listing centres on Vishnu devotion; Matsya gives a specific preservation-and-renewal narrative. Compare the actual diagrams and intended altar practice.

Choose Thursday. After a bath, clean the puja space and place the yantra on a red or yellow cloth. Sprinkle Ganga jal, apply kumkum or sandal paste, and offer flowers, rice and a ghee diya. Chant "Om Namo Bhagavate Matsyadevaya" 108 times. After that, a short daily prayer or lamp is enough.

Puja and Vastu tradition suggest keeping it in the north-east, at eye level or on the altar, with the front of the yantra facing you during prayer. Keep the place clean and avoid bathrooms, the floor or the space under a staircase.

Wipe the gold-plated copper plate gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid soap, lemon, acids, abrasive powder or polish, which can remove the finish. If you offer water during puja, dry the yantra immediately afterwards and keep it away from damp walls.
